In following our tradition, we will have a Book Group Holiday Party with a book exchange this year! Join us to celebrate on Wednesday, December 17th from 7:30 - 9:30pm. Please bring a festive savory or sweet holiday treat to share. There may be small prizes or take-aways!
For the book exchange, please follow the steps below:
1. Pull a high quality, used book off of your shelf (or find one in a Little Free Library around town or buy one in the library sale area). The key here is that the book should be high quality (i.e., you read and enjoyed it, or it gets good reviews) and that it is used (i.e., do not feel that you need to buy a new book). Please try not to bring a book that you know we read at a Book Group meeting in the past.
2. Wrap the book in plain brown paper or other light colored wrapping paper. A paper grocery store bag works well. On the OUTSIDE of each package, write a description of the book in 10 words or less. DO be creative. DO NOT indicate the title or author in your description.
3. Bring the wrapped book with you on 12/17. After drawing numbers, we will open the wrapped books in order together at the party. Feel free to steal a book from someone else when it's your turn, exchange with each other, or share the books after the exchange.
5. All are welcome to join the party and book exchange, even if you haven't attended book group in the past. In addition, feel free to bring other books that you no longer want for my Little Free Library out front or to share in a more informal book exchange.
Happy holidays and happy reading!!
If you are not feeling well, please stay home, and speedy recovery!
