Book Club

The NMF Book Club is very active and meets on the third Wednesday of each month (some exceptions apply during school vacation weeks) at a participant’s house for appetizers, dessert, and wine supplied by attendees. Books are selected during a Book Club meeting four to six months in advance by attendee vote. An attempt is made to balance the book selection with literary novels, non-fiction, and lighter reads, with the goal of having a good discussion. We are always looking for new members! Check out what we are currently reading.
Note: Should you wish to purchase your books (or anything else) on Amazon.com please click there from
this link and generate a small referral fee for the mothers' forum.

Be Active Club

Aims to create community around sports and recreation activities. Meets weekly for a 2-mile walk, weather permitting. The scope of the group will grow from the interests pursued by current and new members. We’ll provide opportunities to post sports and recreation activities for moms, families, and kids. Join us for kayaking or canoeing on the Charles, biking along the DCR trails, rock climbing at indoor gyms, ice skating or sledding at Larz Anderson park, or roller blading along Memorial Drive.

Fall and Winter Socials, Holiday Party, Wine and Cheese Tasting and Game Night. Also, various other get-togethers throughout the year, e.g., gallery visits, progressive dinner party.

Community Outreach

In the past, The Newton Women's Forum has raised various donations to help families for The Second Step homeless shelter in Newton, the Newton Free Library, and Room to Grow, a nonprofit who provides baby essentials for low-income families. We hope our donations can go to help other parents and their children who are in need. We also host a silent auction some years. Local businesses donate goods and services to help the NWF raise money for local charitable organizations.
