Speaker: David Kingsbury, Assistive Technology Instructor, The Carroll Center for the Blind. BIO: David Kingsbury works as an assistive technology instructor at The Carroll Center for the Blind and is active on the advocacy front. He is the president of the Bay State Council of the Blind, an organization that advocates for the community’s interests. Prior to becoming blind in 2004, David worked in international development as an agricultural economist and for the United Nations. He also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal and Chad.

Our Speaker Series is part of the NWF full membership. Non-members are welcome to attend any of our Speaker Series events for a $35 guest fee paid via PayPal ahead of the event or by check at the event. If a guest decides to join during month of the Speaker event, $35 will be deducted from the $165 annual dues. Unique opportunity to also tour the National Braille Press!! In conjunction with our October 2nd Speaker event, we have arranged a tour of the National Braille Press in Boston. We will learn about the many steps involved in creating a Braille book in the digital age, including transcription, proofreading, embossing, binding, and more. 

This is open to all NWF 2023-2024 Season members and all paid guests of the October 2nd Speaker night. Compliments of Newton Women's Forum -- NWF will cover the cost of the tour. Please RSVP for the tour Oct 3 at 10:30 a.m. - as we need a firm count for correct payment.
